HOAN BRIDGE UPDATES FOR 2012:
Once again in 2012, three routes (25, 50 and 75-mile routes) will utilize the Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge. This year, riders will travel down Harbor Drive to Michigan Street to Lincoln Memorial Drive and then onto the bridge.
Ted Seaver Street will no longer be used to access the Hoan Bridge.
Those three routes will use the northbound lanes to go southbound on the bridge and the 50 and 75-mile routes will go north by using the southbound lanes on the Hoan.
There will be new and improved rubber safety mats to cover the expansion joints on the Hoan, which should provide a faster install process and a safer, smoother journey.
OTHER ROUTE CHANGES FOR 2012
The Start Line, which will be moving south to Harbor Drive and Polk Street, will provide four lanes of traffic (all recently repaved) with staggered departure strategies and plenty of room for staging.
Interurban Trail Bridge: The 75-mile route will again travel through part of the Ozaukee Interurban Trail and cross the bridge in the Town of Grafton. More info about the trail here.
Oasis Stations: Oasis Stations are located along each route providing snacks and water, first aid, restroom facilities and emergency bike service.*
*Oasis snack products may contain nuts. Participants with nut allergies should plan accordingly. We also encourage you to bring your own water and snacks.
